Comfort and Joy Part 1

Comfort and Joy. Two emotions that we often cherish, especially during the Christmas season. They are what we seek to fill our lives with. Everyone wants to be joyful and comfortable. But where are we turning in our search? Do we look to our family and friends, to careers, the treasures we surround ourselves with, the modern conveniences that make our lives easier to fill this void?

For many comfort and joy seem to be almost mythical. Unatainable. Something other people get to enjoy.

What if this season was the season that we woke to the precious truth that the angels brought to the shepherds that night in Bethlehem, 2000 years ago. "I bring you tidings of great joy which will be for ALL people."

But even bigger than that, what if comfort and joy was never intended to only be something to seek and keep for ourselves? What if God intended our comfort and joy to be something that flowed out of us and washed over all those he brings across our path?
